Biography

James Handley is a visual artist inspired by questions of identity, British History, and the constantly changing world we live in.

Who are we? Who were we? And what will we become? These are all lines that James explores in his practice using paint, sculpture and metalwork to create a rich multidisciplinary process.

In bringing the past and the present vis-à-vis, he hopes to

create discourse on the future of British art and open it up to new, inclusive and radical possibilities.

James Handley studied at Nottingham Trent University and has exhibited in several places in the UK, including London, Liverpool and Sheffield.

He is based in Essex.
